Idling in Rhode Island Nicknamed the Ocean State, Rhode Island is home to a number of oceanfront beaches. Nearly one tenth of Rhode Island's inland area is covered by salt water, and no part of the state is more than a 45-minute drive from the water's edge. The center of population of Rhode Island is located in Providence County, in the city of Cranston.

It is the smallest state by area, and the 8th smallest by population. Luckily, idling is not as serious an issue as it is in some other states, but it is still important that strides are made in its reduction.

Below is a summary of the data regarding idling length and costs in Rhode Island.
