The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently recognized the Volvo Group’s US subsidiary Mack for the company’s successful efforts in significantly reducing the emission of greenhouse gases.
It was within the framework of the Climate Leaders program that Mack worked with reducing the emission of greenhouse gases from its operations. Between 2003 and 2007, the company reduced its emissions of greenhouse gases by a full 32 percent per manufactured unit.
During the same period, Mack simultaneously reduced the total emission of greenhouse gases by 25 percent.

Kingston city councillors are ready to get tough on air pollution. And they're zeroing in on cars and boats. A tough new anti-idling bylaw will be presented to a municipal committee tonight. It would cover the entire city under a three minute rule. The story from newswatch's Chris Harvey.

Idle reduction technology-company Webasto has made updates to its "make a leap" website, and has produced a viral idle-reduction video that appears on YouTube.
The company's LEaP initiative (Lowering Emissions and Particulates) was launched last October, and its cornerstone website seeks to collect and clearly display idle reduction information and educational resources in one centralized location.

Seeking to make an impact in idling awareness, the makeaLEaP.org website has officially kicked off. It exists to help raise public awareness of the risks associated with current trends where air quality continues to suffer and greenhouse gasses continue to grow. LEaP has been established to advocate strategies and technologies that can make caring for our air and environment a part of how everyone lives, not just those who are already concerned.
Make a LEaP will also highlight industries, initiatives, and outstanding people who are trying to make a difference in Idling arenas.
